"Isn't the world a better place without Saddam Hussein?"

If a cockroach crawls into a Ming vase, do you smash the vase to catch it? The point is that we should consider both the benefits and the costs of an action. That Saddam Hussein sits in jail is good. But how much of a threat was he really to America and to Christians? He had neither WMD nor links to terrorist groups, and actually let the 1.5 million Iraqi Christians worship in peace. In contrast, North Korea's Kim Jong Il boasts that he has nuclear weapons, trains terrorists and jails anyone claiming to be Christian. Sudan kills Christians and Iran declared that it will enrich uranium... Why did we pick Saddam Hussein to go after again?

And at what costs?
- The $200 billion bill for Iraq equals $2,000 taken from every one of our 100 million households;
- The slower flowing Iraqi oil supply is making us pay billions more at the gas pumps;
- Iraq lies in ruins and guess who will end up paying billions more to rebuild it;
- American reputation and image, built by 60 years of saving and rebuilding the world, is ruined;
- Over 1,000 Americans have been killed and thousands more have been maimed;
- Tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians have been killed and hundreds of thousands more maimed;
- Iraqi Christians are now being persecuted by the Muslim majority and things will worsen for them if the overwhelmingly Muslim Iraq 'democratically' decides to become an Islamic republic;
- We diverted troops from the real war on terror in Afghanistan and let bin Laden escape.
