Our Heritage

Mayflower Compact of 1620

When the first settlers reached North American shores in 1620, they drafted the Mayflower Compact, which declared, "In the name of God, Amen - We whose names are underwritten... having undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith... do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body..." Our forefathers clearly stated that they came to America "for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith."
