Comments [Before Re-Election] After Re-Election "Thank you for your website. I am a Christian, and I am deeply devoted to God in my love for Him and my faith. I am also STRONGLY opposed to George W. Bush in his actions and policies since he has taken office, and will continue to be so as he has been unfortunately elected to another term. I am so relieved to find that there are other Christians out there who feel the way I do. I have been deeply upset by the way he has used Christianity to justify his actions. In my opinion and belief, it is not right to use and manipulate God in order to vindicate what you feel is right. Bush's administration has been a disaster, and I have encountered true hatred felt towards Christians because of what he has done in the name of God. I won't go on, but I just wanted to personally thank you for what you're doing and to show my support. Thank you so much." "Hi. You have a nice web site. This Christian’s thoughts are pretty much in line with yours. However, I live in East Tennessee. Historically, unlike the rest of Tennessee, this area has been both Republican and Christian since the Civil War. Because this area had few slaves and no plantation culture, it largely sided with the north in that war. To this very day, based on little of common sense or logical nature, the majority votes Republican as a reflex action because Lincoln won the war. I kid you not. Our local newspaper, the Knoxville News-Sentinel has copious letters to the editor every week. I don’t have a handy one right now, so I will make one up for you because they all say about the same thing in one way or another: “I just don’t know why all of these mean people are after our nice Mr. Bush. Don’t they know that he is the anointed one--- a special vessel of the Lord’s reserved aside unto the salvation of our great nation in this time of dire trouble...” Yadd...yadda...yadda (over and over and over and over). I get so sick of it." "Thank you so much for this website. As a Christian who opposes President Bush's war in Iraq, I too, feel he is wrongly leading our country. The Lord warned of corrupt Religious leaders in Matthew and Luke and I too feel that we are being misled." "With the election behind us, I pray that you will continue to update your website. I pray for this not because I want to see anything negative about Pres. Bush. In fact, I believe we must pray for him, support him as a brother, and seek blessings for his administration. But, as had been noted prior to the election, critical conversation about Pres. Bush and his policies with other believers is difficult at best. I look forward to your updates, and the opportunity to contribute to a discussion centered on honest questions of policy and not whether disagreement with this president is an indication of a lack of faith or non-belief. Please keep it up!" "Hello, as I'm sure you have received many emails of support, let me add mine. It is so refreshing to read your website regarding the Bush administration and the United States. I was completely disheartened during the election being around Christians (including close friends and family) who supported Bush and ASSUMED we (my husband and I) support Bush. I find that this wholehearted support of a particular political party (even, sometimes from the pulpit) can only cause further division. I am disturbed by Christians' further forays into politics in general when we should be, as your website says, better spending our time on our knees. That said, my husband and I would be so grateful to God if there were a leader who was clearly a God fearing, fruit bearing president. We believe that Bush and his people have aimed at the Christians of this country a propaganda intent on keeping God's people deceived in order to support the Republicans and the Bush war in Iraq. Thanks for letting me feel that someone is sane out there." "Hi, I am wondering a few things that my fellow Christian friends don't want to ask because they are afraid God will punish them for not following the herd. What makes Bush any more Christian than my neighbor? Just because he says he is? What church does he go to? What was he brought up with? Why is it that he is the appointed one when up until he was elected he was considered an alcoholic? He quit not for his own, but for his wife. And what kind of of charities does he support or has he worked with in the past? No one seems to answer these questions and the others that I have. All I get is that I am not a PROPER Christian if I don't shut my mouth and sit down and follow everyone else. Frankly the church is losing me on this one because they are acting like sheep. I finally get to say it: BUSH IS NOT THE NEXT COMING!" "Hello, Way too much focus on what President Bush did or didn't do to bring glory to God. God isn't dependent on anyone to give him glory, he is glory! Jesus Christ told us to beware lest no man deceive you in these last days. What would you expect from any politician running a backslidden country like the U.S of A. Hey it wouldn't make any difference who was President at this stage of earth's history. The only thing that we can thank Bush for is accelerating God's purpose in the ultimate demise of America until she repents. Sit back pray and enjoy the ride, folks. Jesus is coming soon!"
